Individual Therapy

One-on-one counseling sessions provide the clients with specific individualized support and guidance for issues with sobriety, co-dependency, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety and / or depression, family relationships, (including spouse / significant other difficulties), boundary and limit setting, self-sufficiency and independence. The methods utilized for assistance may be CBT, creative visualization, DBT, and guided imagery as well as yoga breathing with meditation and /or a combination of the above.

Group Therapy

The natural propensity of human beings to congregate makes group therapy a powerful therapeutic tool for treating substance abuse. One that is as helpful as individual therapy, and sometimes more successful. One reason for this efficacy is that groups intrinsically have many rewarding benefits—such as reducing isolation and enabling members to witness the recovery of others—and these qualities draw clients into a culture of recovery. Another reason groups work so well is that they are suitable especially for treating problems that commonly accompany substance abuse, such as depression, isolation, and shame. These factors coupled with a rich evidence-based curriculum sets our clients to learn, grow and ultimately succeed.

CHAZ clients are required to attend group therapy four times a week while in the first 2 phases of the program. These group therapy sessions are 2 hours long and are run by trained group facilitators. These required group therapy classes focus on: anger & aggression, relapse prevention, substance abuse disorder education, family patterns, feelings, understanding of the 12 steps, coping strategies, and mindfulness. Our clients also have the ability to participate in

Grief & Trauma group therapy weekly. This group is a 2 hour per week, 10 week long, optional course curriculum facilitated by a licensed therapist.

There are under 20 client participants in each group therapy session and all groups are divided by sex -male and female.  It is up to the client to choose with what sex they identify and prefer to do group with.

Case Management Services

Our Case Managers are hand-selected from an extensive process that ensures that the right people are involved in the client’s life. The Case Managers’ primary goal is to empower the client to move forward in their recovery and assist them in going through barriers that have been crippling to their everyday life. Our case managers come from all walks of life and are trained to be culturally competent, compassionate and empathetic to the needs of our clients. We pride ourselves on ensuring that every individual has equal opportunities in their recovery. Their expectations are as follows:

  • Creation of both long and short term treatment plans for clients

  • Assisting clients to set achievable goals to aid in their recovery

  • Coordinate resources required to help clients achieve success

  • Education and support of the client through both face-to-face assessment and home visits

  • Assesses and fixes gaps in client care, and determines additional needs or requirements related to a specific client’s disease or disorder

Our case managers meet with their clients once a week to assure they are progressing in their recovery & through the phases of our program, are setting goals & reaching goals, as well as to assure their individual needs are being met. These meetings typically last from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the clients’ needs that week.

SOS has a designated transportation team to ensure safe arrival into our program and traveling while in our program. Our transport drivers pick up new clients at their residences and from other behavioral health treatment centers, hospitals and detox centers. We are currently capable of picking up clients locally and in the surrounding states. Also, our transportation team assists in taking clients to individual appointments, traveling to group events, and going to and from 12 step meetings. Also, all of our structured supportive living homes have staff who are licensed, insured and equipped with company vehicles to meet all of the other transportation needs of our clients (i.e. to the clinic, to group, to the store, meetings, etc.)

Sober Events & Fun Group Outings

At CHAZ, it is very important for us to show our clients how to build a sober network and community & how to have fun while being sober. That is why we plan fun right into our curriculum. Each week our clients take a step back from routine groups, and intensive therapy & they go out to enjoy each other, connect, socialize and have FUN!
